THE WASHING SONG has been written to help people with a more severe learning disability learn about the importance of personal hygiene. This song was originally written in Welsh.
The long musical introduction allows time to listen-in properly and feel the rhythm before the singing begins. The words and phrases are short so that a person who might not be able to grasp a long or complicated sentence can understand the meaning more easily. Because of the word arrangement it is easy to use sign language with the song.
The tune is designed to be catchy enough for people to learn and enjoy it at the same time as listen.
